BIU (Blogging It Up)

so it's been about a month....

I want to begin with an apology to my supporting followers who have waited so patiently for me to update.

sadly, it says I only have two followers... so thank you micah and creed, I hope this entry will bring some joy and happiness into your life... probably not but whatever.

Honestly though,

I get the feeling that more than 2 people read my blog. (or maybe I just tell myself that to feel better)

I know for a fact that my family reads it.. so my fan club has now jumped up to a wopping 16. dang do I feel popular.

I have had a few people in the last couple weeks ask me when I would be "blogging" again and what it would be on...

here is my general answer...

"I'm not sure when I'll be "blogging it up" again. I'm sure as soon as something exciting happens in my life and I have something worth talking about, so check back in about 6 months... christmas is always a thrill."

I really have been wanting to blog though... and I'd be lying if i used the excuse that I was too busy.

Facebook and friends do not fit the definition of busy... though I'm already lying by separating the facebook and friends part with an 'and'...

haha?

but really people, blogging isn't that easy. It's not like you can just sit down to the computer and type up a few paragraphs about what's been on your mind or been going on with your life...

okay... so you can, and most people do. but that's just stupid. I'm not the type of blogger who just uploads a bunch of pictures of myself and maybe my dog and then puts a short caption below it. that's lame. and I've noticed that most people do it that way.

but i'm not most people. (plus i dont even have a dog). I usually like to think about what I'm gonna write.. especially since i'm putting it on the WORLD WIDE WEB.

I usually chuckle and roll my eyes at what a lot of people are writing about... first of all, did people forget how to spell and how to use punctuation? I mean, I'm not perfect but I did attend elementary school, and I was under the impression that the rest of americans did too but wow, I must have been wrong. Some bloggers make it seem like they have never learned how to spell in there life.

for example... (I not only notice these errors while reading a blog, but they are often used on facebook, MSN, myspace, letters, etc. )

1) Plz (Please), Okay really? You took the time to be polite and use the word please but you couldn't spell out the whole word?....

2)LOL. (laugh out loud) LOL made sense when you were in junior high and it was supposedly "cool" but the coolness was supposed to go away when we grew up. i guess the people who still use it are taking peter pans advice and never growing up. way to be? LMAO (Laugh my a$$ off) Come on! are you really laughing your 'a' off? no, you're not... and if you really are... well that's just not right.(Oh and you can thank me for the censorship later ;) ) ROTFL (rolling on the floor laughing) ah, my number 1 choice from the pathetic list. The next person who says this to you is ridiculous. even if they thought something was funny, why would they tell you that they rolled around on the floor because of it. Who cares if they really actually thought it was funny. there is no need to throw your intelligence out the window by using such deceiving and stupid abbreviations. You are usually having a cyber conversation with someone when they use these "words" anyways, so most of the things you are saying and/or reading are being misinterpreted in the first place. If someone actually does say something funny... you aren't really sure if they meant it that way. which is why sarcasm is a beast on the web.

3) TTYL(talk to you Later) Just say bye. it's only three letters and you probably wont be chatting it up anytime soon anyways. G2G (got to go) I hate this one. BRB(be right back) they are usually lying anyways. they never come back until you've gotten bored with waiting for them and have retired the internet for a while.

4) PPL (People) I guess I can KIND OF understand this one since people is suchhhh a long word. but we could all survive without it. but oh well. NVM(Never mind) there's another long one again. I hate those! JK(Just kidding) Probably the most popular one of them all. either stop saying JK or joking around in the first place, cause this one definitely gets annoying.

5)WUZ (was) This one is the cherry on top for me. come on guys, you're kidding right? those of you who are reading this and use the word? "wuz". I'm gonna let you in on secret... but it's one of those secrets that I'm okay with you sharing. with everyone. WUZ and WAS are both exactly 3 letters. you're not doing yourself any favors.. you just make yourself look like a retard, without a brain.

That's all I've got. I'll probably realize i've forgotten a few when I get on facebook later.

It's always the best when you hear someone say these to you out loud, in person. It helps me realize that english class was probably oh so important to them.

blogging has always been an issue in my household. especially with my mom. actually, the whole internet facebook social thing altogether is like that with her. She doesn't get why people feel the need to brag about themselves and sit around and waste there life away on the internet. Mom's most famous line is... "Get to work!" (She just about says this in reply to anything her children say to her, like, "I'm bored" "I hate my life" "There is nothing to do around here" "I'm Hungry" "are we there yet?". Her reply is always the same. "Get to work")

Some of the time it doesn't make sense, but we get the memo and usually stop complaining at that point... or disappear before we really do have to "get to work".

i agree with her though. I think a lot of us are literally WASTING our lives away on this whole electronic and world wide web stuff. There is no excuse for anyone to be bored. (wow, I cant believe I just said that... especially since being bored was why I decided to do this blog) ha.

I do not think that blogging is bad.

my older brother said something along these lines one time, This blogging thing isnt supposed to be about you talking and bragging about yourself and the whole photo album thing, blogging is about discussing and sharing your opinions on issues and important things.

and I agree. which brings it all back to the intelligence factor and spelling issue. the majority of blogs that I read are always talking about there perfect life and how warm and fuzzy they feel all the time. you rarely read one that your really interested in and make it through the next paragraph without rolling your eyes and drooling a little bit.

Yes, it's wonderful to follow people and check in to see how there life is going but I can't follow em when their using language like ttyl, plz, and posting pictures of there new puppy or hubby.. maybe I'm just reading the really lame ones...

don't get me wrong. I know there are good ones out there.

and I've also heard a lot of people say to me, "no one is making you read them! let them brag all they want", really?... should I? I can't. Something must be said... for all of our sakes...

Anyways, the main idea I was trying to get across to you in this entry was that....

uh.

well I don't really know what i was trying to get across to you. in all honesty, I had no idea what i was gonna be talking about and just went with the flow of things... I just didn't want to make my viewers wait till christmas... so It looks like i just talked about... well blogging.

which works.

and I hope I got my point across... ( if there was one?)

I did have a few ideas I wanted to talk about coming into the game this time but I guess I'll see if they make it onto the field next time.

here were a few I thought about...

Michael Jackson (Due to the fact that he died and is one the greatest artists in the world, I'll most likely blog about him next time for sure)

Zoobies (Funny hu? if you know what they are of course... if you don't, well then stay tuned! Having lived in provo for a while, I've wanted to express my opinion on them a bit... maybe in the future.)

Myself (hahahaha)

We'll see which one makes the cut next time, I can't guarantee it won't be about my negative opinion on someone or something though, I hope this one didn't come off so hateful. my bad.

p to the s. i am sorry if I offended any of you readers with my comments about the lame and pathetic blogging skills . Don't feel stupid, just know that you are a boring blogger and nobody really cares that much... except for maybe you.. oh and of course your dog.

TTYL!

peace.

Am I a cool kid now?

Hm. I dont even know how to start this...

wow that was easy.

Well i guess i should maybe give a little explanation as to why I decided to start a blog. (or should I say an online bragging journal)

I have always had a little passion for writing, never really been good at it but it's always been something I enjoy doing. The thought of starting a blog has entered my mind more than a few times. Maybe it was the spirit trying to tell me something or maybe it was my boredom and free time getting to me. either way... here I am.

Actually, it is all because of my two older brothers... brigham and dallin. so, I'm going to take advantage of this idea of "the online bragging journal" and brag a little about them.

Dallin has had a blog for probably around a year and Brigham just recently started one... It is always nice to get the whole family around the computer and get a laugh (or 12) from the "two simpletons down in utah" (as mom would put it.)

Other than all the sarcastic, never negative comments and hilarious jokes, I have been amazed at the things i have learned about these two guys.

Dallin has never failed to make me laugh at his crazy ideas, opinions and Zingers.

I think most of the shaw clan would agree that he is the funny one of the bunch... you can be sure to get a good laugh when he's in the room. He has an opinion and he's not going to leave you wondering what it is if you ask. I can think Dallin is the biggest jerk and gayest older brother in the world, but when i walk away from reading what he has to say to the bored people of this world; my respect for him always seems to grow. I finish, always thinking a little harder about something he had said. Even though I think that he is the classic, mean older brother... I have learned that he does have a brain. He really does have an amazing outlook and opinion on life and the people that are in it... and i think that if we were to all look past the Indian Bad guy scenarios and Pride and prejudice. provo editions... we would see a dude who really, unlike the majority of people, is thinking about stuff. He's isnt the biggest jerk and gayest older brother in the world... I promise.

http://dallinsfridaynightwrite.blogspot.com/

Then there is Brigham. He is the oldest child in the shaw clan. He is 11 years older than me, so by the time I was in between first and second grade, he was graduating high school and moving out... wait that's a lie. Shaw kids never move out. haha just kidding... but seriously.

anyways. what i'm saying is that I was part of the younger half in the family while brigham was at home. or in other words, I was out catching grasshoppers and collecting pennies and nickles for the daily trip to Leprekon, while Brigham was doing grown up stuff like being able to drive and leave without a big kid, make his own mac and cheese and having his very own MSN messenger account. (as you can see, that's what I do now that i'm a "grown up"...) We didnt go hang out and do big kid stuff or sit in the basement and play nintendo together. He was just the older brother who gave big hugs, had a big manly voice and let me sit on his lap...the whole sitting on his lap ended eventually when I got too big and had to start wearing a bra. (yeah, that's what happens to girls when they grow up.) well I didnt really realize the kind of man brigham was till I got older and started thinking about big kid stuff. He was the smart one in the family. He always got perfect grades and worked hard at everything.. I think the first time I really started looking up to brigham was when he came home from his mission a couple times. not only was I literally having to look up to him but I really wanted to be like him. I still do, and probably always will. He is one of the smartest people I know, which might be saying alot but I guess I don't know that many people...ha. but really, he is. As I have been reading his blog I have gained so much respect for him. for all that he has gone through and experienced in his life, he still never fails to be the amazing older brother and good example. really, read it. I dare you... and if you say you don't have time, you're a liar. because if you have gone this far in reading my pathetic blog... you have time to go and read something worth while that might actually make you feel like you read something worth your time.

Brighams last blog entry(I miss the comfort in being sad) made me shed a few tears.. in a a good way of course. which is incredible because I dont cry. ever. and sometimes I wish I could just to remind me that I have feelings for others. but i'll explain more about me and my marvelous self next time.

http://www.completelybs.blogspot.com

So what I am trying to say about these two fellas is that I have learned an incredible amount about them through this blogging stuff. I feel like i have really seen the sort of people they are and how they really feel about stuff. so way to go brothers... you have at least one fan... wait two. I know mom thinks your cool too. but that might just be because it's her job to think that. oh well.

In all honesty though, It is actually quite sad and pathetic that I have come to know more of who my brothers are through a few short paragraphes posted on a website every other week or so, than I have in growing up with them for 19 years. It's cool though. I knew something positive and real would come from this blogging game.

well I hope you might have gotten something from this entry. It's my first time so don't be too hard on me. I know there are some really cute and sweet blogs out there written by some really nice people that you have probably read... so this might be dull, but i'm learning...

like some smart dude once said... practice makes perfect...

some of the time.

stay tuned...

Until Next Time.

peace.
